About Me
He is painfully missed by his family and the greater cycling community as word continues to spread. Currently his family are unsure of whether they will be able to continue the amazing service he delivered with passion every day. Until then we hope you find someone to take care of your pride and joy.
Poul, in his own words:
Hello, my name is Poul Peterson and here’s a little bit about me and my brand. The PP is clearly Poul Peterson. The ‘PP’ brand is often misunderstood but clearly recognised on a number of bikes now. My ‘PP’ label was designed to subtly integrate with the bike it was on so it was fundamentally there but not something that was out of place with the styling of the bike nor clash with the colours to create a seamless integration with advertising and style rather than some ugly ‘shop label. Bikes were meant to be beautiful. If it bares the brand it shows my pride.
I have been servicing high end bicycles and building quality bicycle wheels since 1996. I have had an impressive career as a mechanic in the bicycle industry over these past 20 years. My innovation and collected knowledge is something I pride myself on as I have learned from everything I do myself and also picked up from others over the years.
I love the industry I am in as it is constantly evolving with technology and this is something that drives me and helps me evolve. An occupied mind makes for a healthy being, (so they say).
I also still choose to heavily focus on hand building wheels for my own ventures because it was almost disheartening to find out that the hand built wheel is a dying art, yet it is still so strongly appreciated in almost every competitive field of cycling from BMX, track, road, cross country, downhill etc.
I was employed within the New Farm, Teneriffe area for almost 9 years doing what I love and now choose to operate in own space thanks to the generosity of Black Sheep Cycling’s The Woolshed in Helen Street, Teneriffe.
I have access to a majority of cycling products and would be happy to provide a quote tailored to your needs and specifications. I have access to a variety of different products but there are a select few that I would highly recommend. If there is anything I can do to help choose what is going to perform best for you, please don’t hesitate to ask me for anything that may guide you to finish your dream build.

Sports Service – $120.00
Let’s start with a staple service to satisfy any machine. The sports service covers everything from a general clean up to a full run over with the torque drive to ensure everything is as it should be. A lube of the gear cables and tune the gears. A lube of the brake cables and adjust and realign brakes as necessary and generally check the wear and tear of anything on the bike. If anything seems untoward I will always call before going ahead with additional work.
Performance Service – $175.00
The most popular service for me. Everything you would expect from the Sports Service + a full degrease of the drive train and extensive clean of the entire bicycle. Remove and re-grease the headset. Remove and re-grease the bottom bracket area.
Elite Service (Road) – (from)$300.00
Well obviously everything you would get from my Performance service and so much more. Basically a complete strip down. Not just derailleurs removed, I will disassemble the pulley wheels as well. Hubs stripped and rebuilt also. Everything you could think of, stripped, cleaned and rebuilt.
Elite Service (MTB) – (from) $350.00
Same as the road service including linkages as well. Suspension services are an extra and vary depending on the type of fork or shock. This can be discussed prior to booking.
Custom Bike Building – (from) $300
If you’ve skilfully acquired the components for your new dream project and need it skilfully pieced together then I’m your guy. Whether you have everything ready to go or need a hand sourcing the finishing touches then reach out.
Custom Wheel Lacing – (from) $100.00
Building a wheel from the ground up is an art and a skill I pride myself on. Wheels can be structured to suit a rider, a style, a weight and a budget. I like to discuss with my customers what they want from their wheels to find the best suited option to satisfy every guideline.
